this is so bizzare and so beautiful. the way in which animals will step up to the plate to ensure the survival of another species is certainly a lesson for us humans.
Seriously though - it reminds me of the final scene in "The Grapes of Wrath" where the girl who has lost her child nurses the stranger dying of starvation.
...or that time a few weeks ago during that nasty snow storm that a mom saved her entire family by auto nursing herself as well as her children while stuck in that car. i'd just like to say that women are amazing.
Is that true Chuck, or are you just disgustingly imaginative? I guess fact is stranger than fiction. All I can say is that must have really sucked for them all.
no it's totally true. they got stuck in a snow storm, after 5 days the father thought he'd be the 'hero' and left to get help. meanwhile the mother nursed everyone and then were found a day later. the father was not so fortunate, he froze to death. trippy news bit there. here's a link:

I've offered to nurse you many times Phil - you still pay me no mind.

(I liked the "auto nursing" in a car)

I realize now that I had heard the story excepting that detail.
Moving tale.
