it reminds me of the year that ontario's mascot for groundhog day died a couple weeks before his big day, but they quickly replaced him with a look-alike and didn't tell the public until after the day had passed because they "didn't want to upset people." surprisingly my time of grieving the loss of Wiarton Willie was short-lived...
