thanks for this image chuck. i've really connected with it this holy week. i love the ways Christ shows up in pop culture and this plastic-looking figure in a trunk, next to a tire, lying on a jack with a fire extinguisher in his back... just goes to show (metaphorically) the continuity of the incarnation into every age and culture. and how does our modern industry accent the darkness of "good friday"?
i didn't expect to be blessed on whatsomonesaw today...

good to hear phil. the picture and idea of christ laying in tomb for 3 days and nights, rotting seems really close to me, not just the death and darkness aspect, but the picture of the most amazing hope existing in the darkest corner on earth. seeing this shot in the documentary "searching for the wrong-eyed jesus" made this idea freshly reachable in the context of an old car trunk in southern georgia.

dude! i've been wanting to see that documentary ever since i heard about it on npr last year... i filed it in my mind and had since forgotten... the guy's music is amazing, eh?
